On Friday night the Haldimand Curling Club held a special night in memory of Orie Seychuk.
While Orie could be a man of stubborn determination, this was perfectly balanced by his kind heart. Those who knew him best understood that beneath his quiet, no-nonsense exterior was a deeply caring person whose actions always spoke louder than words. He was a long time member and supported the curling club in many ways. In 2011 the HCC moved from the old Cayuga Arena to the new one. New rocks were needed. Orie was a major force in the fund raising and contributed his own money to the purchase of the new rocks.
Orie was known throughout the club for the colourful curling pants he wore. In memory of this the entire club wore colourful pants during games on October 30th.
